
Level Design Exercise
The map below provides a glimpse into my approach to crafting a 2D blockout for Unreal Engine 5. The process kicks off with in-depth research, diving into real-world architecture and exploring various art styles.
I also gather a wealth of references from media and pop culture to inspire the design. Once that foundation is set, I move into the blockout phase, ensuring every element is precisely scaled, labeled, and measured. Afterward, I swiftly import it into the engine for playtesting.
This rapid iteration process not only speeds up development but also reduces the need for frequent feedback meetings with senior team members, since I can present a version that’s already undergone some in-engine testing.
